Indie Anthems collects twelve inspirational tracks of driving independent rock encompassing a variety of styles ranging from introspective piano led hymnals to stadium shaking avalanche-of-sound rockers.

Despite their disparate approaches all these songs build towards an endless crescendo that never seems to plateau. The accomplishments of this album are due in no small part to the eye for detail of its composer Jay Price. A man of some pedigree, with ten years of working at the pinnacle of production and commercial music, the former front man of The Genteels is a brilliant guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. This is his third album for West One Music, following on from fine showings on The Hustle & Con and Hero Unleashed.

To achieve an authentic alternative sound Price drafted in the peerless Alonza Bevan and Paul Winterheart, seasoned indie session pros, on bass and drums respectively. The duo's performances lift these tracks above and beyond, providing the rhythmic pulse and motion as the sonorous string arrangements of Pete Whitfield (Mr Scruff, Audiowhores) lend these pieces their epic grandeur. All cuts feature vocal contributions from Price, Russell Swallow or John Ray (Fake Ray) with lyrics that focus on the most universal of themes - life, love, hope and regret - which build upon the existential traditions of the genre. Engineering on all tracks was resident in-house legend Tom Garrad-Cole.

This wonderful anthology provides a spectrum of Indie Anthems that conjures endless moods and textures to enhance and enrich a wide variety of settings - a testament to the skill and experience of those who created it.
